Can't get into the rhumatologist til oct for initial visit, but how many of you have muscle soreness and it hurts to touch that area on your skin? Got home from work and it hurts to walk! :-(

Hi Tina,
I sometimes get that kind of muscle pain when I am undergoing steroid withdrawal.  When I was first diagnosed and having more severe flares, I was a wreck when I would come home from work.  Like you, in agony trying to even walk through the door.  Meds have helped, especially Plaquenil and Prednisone.  What I would do is get on a cancellation list, so if someone cancels their appointment, you might have a chance of getting into the doctor faster.  Rest and decreasing stress might help with some of the pain that you are experiencing.  My problem is that my job has so much stress built into it that I finally cut back to working 4 days a week.....that seems to help quite a bit.   Hang in there!!
