Just wanted to let you know that I'll be away for a day (hopefully) possibly more. I'll be having my GYN/ONC surgery tomorrow. We are to report to the surgery department at 5:30am.
I've given my hubby Lynnwoods email address, I've sent him an email asking him to contact her, if I don't come home tomorrow night with him. Lynnwood will post if hubby contacts her, my daughter normally would do this, but she's away at college.
I'm pretty sure that the epidural will be out of the question. I did some research and most Doctors will not do epidurals on patients who take coumadin unless they've been off of the drugs for 5 days prior to the epidural. I've been taking my coumadin daily and haven't cut it back at all. They did have me eat a large salad last night, but according to what I read the risk of bleeding in the spinal canal is to great a risk for most Doctors.
So if that's the case with the epidural, then I'm going to receive general anesthesia. The big concern is my lungs and will I come off the ventilator easily when they wake me up. If I come off the vent I'll spend the night in the recovery room, as patients with sleep apnea (especially Central Sleep Apnea) can have difficulty with their breathing later on after waking up. If I don't come off the vent I'll be transferred to the ICU and the plan is to gently wean me off the vent.
They've got loads of blood ready in case I bleed to much and I'm okay with everything. Bit worried about
the whole vent thing, but I'll get over it. I'm thinking positive and I hope to be putting out a post tomorrow night on my ipad around this time.
Take care of yourselves and I love my family here at HW. Thank you for all your love, support, many hugs, and prayers. Just in case I kick the bucket you know.
Hugs to you all,
