Hi again,

I am experiencing body jerks. If I have a drink in my hand my body jerks and the drink I am holding, coffee, water, etc. goes all over me and my computer.

Do any of you experience this type of symptom. Last night I got up to go to the bathroom and when I came back to bed I was freezing cold. I put on a pair of socks and a shirt over my nightgown. I have never

Also when out of the house shopping my ankles start to swell.

Did any of you experience this type of symptom.

I have body jerking but it's very slight compared to you. I was told by a neurologist it was benign essential tremors. I believe it is more than that though.

I get sudden body temperture changes too. Most of the time I'm too hot.

My ankles have been swelling for years when I'm on them too long. I take lasix to reduce the swelling.

Lupus sure does love to play around with our bodies. Sigh....

I have this but it is diagnosed as myoclonus. I never thought that it might be related to lupus. Two different neurologist confirmed it as myoclonus, but one said it was not a big deal because myoclonus happens to most people when they are tired. I think it is a big deal when I am going through my regular day and I start jerking! I've also noticed that it is worst when I have flare ups (increased antibodies). Based on this post, I'm starting to think it is not a coincidence.

I find these jerks occur more when I am tired. Lately I am tired all the time. It is most embarrasing when in a room of people and all of a sudden you have a big jerk. In the morning while having my coffee my hand will jerk so much that I spill my coffee all down my pajamas and boy is it hot when landing.
I am going to look into myoclonus and see how that figures in to my jerks.

Thank you for your replies.

I've been "suffering" with body spasms for years and was only diagnosed with lupus this year.
I like the paper ball syndrome where the spasm hits and my body curls into a ball and then when
it passes it straightens out. The worst I had is when it lasted for about 3 hours and the muscle
relaxers didn't touch it. Good luck with yours and hope you find help.
