My partner has been struggling with fatigue, depression, and tendonitis of both wrists for abou two months. Her doctor ran bloods tests which tested 12 for anti-dsDNA antibodies and 1:80 for homogeneous pattern. Her doctor said over the phone that this is "consistent with lupus." (EDITED) She does not have any other the other common symptons such as a rash, sun sensitivity, blue fingers etc.

We have been trying to get answers for over two months now but she has been bounced back and forth between different specialists without any answers. (We are also suspecting lyme.) What do you think?

Thanks so much!

What kind of Dr made this report? I think she meant "consistent with Lupus", in that Lupus could fit as a possible diagnosis.

A rheumotologist is the Dr trained in diagnosing and treating inflammatory diseases - there are many like Lupus that overlap. A general Dr or someone in another specialty may act like they are suitable for treating, but they really are not.

Can you tell us a little about which specialties have been consulted and what they are saying? Maybe we'll have more ideas with more information.

Hang in there!

Thanks for your reply! I did mean "consistent" (not conclusive!). She saw a rheumotologist and infectious disease specialist. The rheumotologist is the one who told her about the test results and thinks she has lupus.
