After reviewing some of the posts on here, I am now wondering if my sleep issues are related to my uctd. about 10 years ago I started having something along the lines of restless leg syndrome when I would lie down to sleep at night. Since then it has waned a little but I am still having issues with it. It's not true RLS as far as I know but I feel like I am not comfortable or my legs are tingly. I've tried ibuprofen and sleep aids with not much relief. On a bad night-like last night-I am up every so often and have a very difficult time getting back to sleep. I can't explain the feelings that I get only that I feel 'wired',not my mind but my body. I am truly exhausted at night and need to do something to help sleep. Also I couldn't get warm and wound up piling covers on me and even wearing socks to bed. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Sorry, that I don't something amazingly insightful to offer. I am up and down all night too.

Perhaps, we should meet here at 2, 3 or 4 am. LOL!

Seriously, it really is horrid feeling exhausted all the time. Everything you undertake feels like a monumental effort.

I will be watching your post here too.

I have a wired body but tired mind or visa-versa.

I have issues where I can't tolerate my legs or arms touching each other. That's when the large body pillows I have come into play for me.

It's hard to say whats going on with your legs, but I wanted to throw out there that maybe you could ask for a sleep study. I know that sleep studies can be done for things other than sleep apnea.

You may have a sleep disorder and they might be able to DX and get you on a medication to help with the condition.

I've had lupus for over 26 years now and I'm fatigued and exhausted all the time. I do have central and obstructive sleep apnea. I'm always cold, but I'm also really anemic, to the point where I need blood monthly now.

I hope you can get this figured out soon. Please let us know if you find an answer for this problem. By the way welcome to the forum.

Hugs,
Barbara

I am going to try a few things for restless legs and I plan to take my list of questions to my rheumy next week. Thank you all for your advice and insight!

So is the overwhelming fatigue from the uctd/lupus or from the lack of sleep? That is what I can't figure out right now.

The lupus seems to cause the fatigue but if you're not sleeping well it can increase your fatigue.
