34 year old female, extreme fatigue/low energy; feeling very cold, purple finger nails and toe nails; achy stiff joints; hair loss; dry eyes for several years. Primary doctor ran blood tests, came back positive ANA 1:160 homogeneous, scleroderma negative, RA negative, ESR negative, CRP negatives Primary doc diagnosed Raynaud's and referred me to a rheumatologist for further work up for lupus. At rheumatologist appt 2 weeks later she said not ready to diagnose anything yet but she did run more blood tests, came back ANA 1:320 homogenous, ANA panel negative, border-line low C4.

Update: Today my whole body is so stiff and achy (hands, wrists, shoulders, knees, ankles and toes) it is hard to get off the couch. Exhausted despite a good sleep last night. Red bumps all over my chest and abdomen for the past 3 days, big red circles (white in the middle) all over my back yesterday. Not sure what to do.

You need to see the doctor asap. From your description it sounds like discoid lupus.

I saw the doctor on Thursday when I just had the little red bumps on my abdomen and he didn't know what it was. He said there seems to be something going on with me immunologically and the rash is probably related to my positive ANA. I called the doctor the next day when the red bumps spread to my chest and I developed the red circles on my back. Not sure what it was. I was at work all day and wasn't able to go in to the doctor. I still have the red bumps on my chest and abdomen but the patches on my back are gone. I just don't feel well today. I did take pictures of the rashes so that I could show next time I go to the doctor. I was thinking about calling on Monday to see if I could be seen, but I think it will probably be several days before I can get an appt. Do I need to be seen while I still have the rash? Is there special testing that can be done while I have the rash vs. when I have no rash? I guess my main question is do I need to be seen this weekend to hopefully get answers vs. waiting until Monday?

I think pictures of the rash will probably be sufficient - never heard of the rash itself being tested. Make sure to get close up shots with a ruler in the frame as well as something more general.

Waiting till Monday should be fine.
