Wonderful news! I will have you in my thoughts during your surgery, oh and your dear friend too. :)

What a gift! I'm thrilled for you Amy.

I have a family friend who donated a kidney to her sister in law. That was over 15 years ago I believe and they are both healthy and well to this day I am happy to report. :)

Wishing you both a successful surgery and speedy healing!

Tomorrow, May 20th, is the day Amy gets her kidney transplant. Her friend is donating one of her kidneys for her. Just wanted to remind you all.

So far everything is still a "GO" - the donor, Addie, and Amy should both be checked into the hospital by now for a transplant early Tuesday morning.

Keep them in your thoughts & prayers!

Lynnwood:

I texted Amy earlier this evening like 10 minutes to midnight and wished them well for today. Thanks for the reminder. Will you notify us with updates on how she's doing?

I'll be looking to see how they are tomorrow.

Hugs,
Barbara

PS Amy things are going to go just great today. Many prayers are being said for you and you deserve a wonderful working kidney. Once you are all healed up you'll be a new person taking on life a full speed ahead. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Barbara

Thanks Lynnwood for posting this wonderful news. I'm so happy for Amy and Addie. I'm so happy I would be jumping around if I could. Prayers have certainly been answered for Amy.

Many more prayers will be said for their recovery now.

Amy posted this around 9pm -

"Transplant update! They said Addie gave me one of the best looking kidneys surgeons have seen in a long time, also my nurse told me she has never seen a kidney produce so much urine output so quickly after surgery. I have a super kidney named Jerome!! The pain is pretty intense but pain pump takes edge off it! I am full of emotions and happiness right now! Oh and even with the pain and nausea, I feel better than I have felt in a VERY long time. Almost like a heavy curtain has been lifted off of me. It's amazing!"
