I'm new 2 this & I'm looking for advise. I've been having a lot of symptoms for yrs, since I was 16. The past 2 yrs have been bad, I've broke out with a rash on my chest & shoulders from being in the sun 2 long. I went 2 a dermatologist & he done a biopsy that came back positive for lupus. So I go for blood work & my ANA came back neg., but my sed rate was high & my WBC was high. He told me he couldn't dx me with lupus 2 go see a rheumatologist. My symptoms come & go, but the past 2 yrs I have new ones like my fingers & toes going numb & being really cold. I stay fatigued so bad that at times I feel like I can't even move. Headaches, joint pain, muscle tension, nauseated a lot, my stomach looks swollen, I've had unexplainable infection, depression & anxiety, mood swings. I feel like I'm going crazy! I'm tired of hearing ppl say it's all in my head 2! I knw something is wrong but I can't get any answers. Any advise would b greatly appreciated!

What Drs have you seen besides a dermatologist?

Did you go to a rheumotologist? They are the Drs who specialize in diagnosing and treating Lupus and other auto-immune diseases.

Check out the "diagnosing lupus" link below - generally you need to have 4 of the 11 listed symptoms to get a Lupus diagnosis.

Let us know how it goes!

Symptoms of lupus will come and go at times. It's like you have climbed on the lupus rollercoaster. Lot's of up and downs, sudden drops, flips, turns, a crazy corksrews, but it never ends.

Make sure to protect yourself from uv light. Sources of uv light are sunshine, fluorescents lights, cf bulbs, halogen bulbs, and tanning beds.

Heavy sunscreen lotion, spf clothing, hat, and gloves will protect you.
