Hi there I'm currently getting assessed for lupus anyone else finding it drags on. I've been started in plaquinil and aspirin and anti histamine to help my skin settle. I got esr 31 positive immunology equivocal Ds-Dna positive ro anti body and positive Ana lupus agricultant negative? I'm exhausted and fed up days are different to the next and I just need someone to enlighten me a little as I feel like doctors don't care about sorting me out. I'm only 24 with two kids and I can be the mum they need I'm exhausted xx cry

Oh does it ever drag on! Welcome Hannahp, I'm sorry you are going through this :(

It is a good thing that you have started with plaquenil. I was put on it in March of this year. I'm starting to truly see its benefits now. It really does help, it just takes a while so hopefully you can hang in there. There will be some light at the end of the tunnel.

The mum you think they need and the mum they think they need are two different things, kids don't care if your house is messy or dishes need doing. Don't wear yourself out and try to rest when you can. :)

I pushed for medication was struggling to get up told them I was gonna quit my job if I didn't get help. Dr was last time not 100% it was fully lupus but since I last saw her I get other symptoms aswell. She wanted me to be on plaquinil a couple of times a week but I find if I don't have one a day I barely wanna shift off the sofa. How long have u had lupus and how long did diagnosis take for u. I just want sorting now I know it's lupus I can feel it I just hope it can b sorted xx

It took about five months for me.
I take plaquenil twice a day.

My diagnosis took about 8 months and was still not a "slam dunk" as my rheumy put it. My white blood cells are always really high which can be considered unusual. My ANA is also borderline at 1:80. I believe my diagnosis was based more on my symptoms than the bloodwork. At first she called it UCTD. Only as of late have my rheumy and primary said it is SLE. I take plaquenil daily.

I'm lucky as I have friends and family who are understanding but they don't get it like we do here. It's hard to fully understand unless they have walked a mile in our shoes which is totally understandable I think, as hard as it might be sometimes.
