Hi, Everyone -
The issue I'm having with my legs started out as numbness, tingling, cramping, and general sense of weakness. My quads and calves will get sore walking down the block or up the stairs.
I then began experiencing true pain in my calves, ankles, and feet, when standing to wash dishes, wash up for bed, etc., which I thought were from constant cramps. However, when I finally took a look, my lower calves, ankles, and feet were severely discolored (purple/red) and my veins were REALLY pronounced. I showed them to my rheumy who was unimpressed, told me it was sudden-onset Raynaud's, and told me she could write me an RX, which I've declined for now.
I'm really growing concerned about the pronounced veins, which were first noticable in my feet, but are now creeping up my calves.
Then came joint pain in my right foot and left knee. The pain is severe enough that I have to limp, until it goes away.
Now I'm experiencing all sorts of odd sensations like, little "shocks" up and down my legs (like pop corn is popping in 'em!), pins and needles, and twitches or tremors. These feelings are most prevalent first thing in the morning and before going to bed, when I'm laying down; when legs are elevated; when attempting to stretch/do gentle yoga; oh, and trips to accpuncture and an osteopath made these weird senations worse!
I thank those of you who are willing and able to share your experiences with me so I can figure out what to tell/ask my rhuemy.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You might need to go on and take the medicine offered.

I've heard of Raynaud's getting pretty bad. I have mild Raynaud's in my hands but not that bad.
Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Glaucoma, Asthma, Hypothyriodism, Sleep Apnea, OA, Depression, Allergies, and benign familia tremors

When life throws you lemons....
Pick them up and throw them right back at them! :))

I was wondering if you had been checked for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)? It has some of the same symptoms that you have described. My cardiologist keeps an eye out for me on this. I don't have it, but I do have Peripheral Neuropathy in my feet.

Hope this helps some.

Take care,
Mary Ann
