I am new to this site. I am going to my doctor this week for my symptoms.
about 2 months ago I started having these random shooting/burning pains in my chest wall. I honestly thought it was breast pain for awhile. I then started having terrible back aches. This was at the base of my neck into my shoulder blades and along my upper to mid spine. I also have twinges pains under my arms, my shoulders, my arms, my shin bones, sometimes my calfs, and now I've started having twinges of pain in my elbows. My hips have also started having twinges of pain. I also randomly have rib pain, and under my ribs had randomly ached for years. I even get random twinges of pain in my collarbone and around in. I'm just achy in lots of places.
I have had tender spots since my late teens, and just had figured maybe I have fibromyalgia, because my mom does. I really didn't look into it at all, because I can stand it, and I didn't want to make a big deal about it. These pains have become very pronounced to the point I have trouble ignoring them the last two months.
I have the butterfly rash anytime I'm out in the sun. I have had several people comment on it throughout my early 20's up until now (I'm 32.) I just always have said, "Oh, I always get that way." I also, since my teens, have had weird things with my fingers and toes. They are extremely sensitive to the cold, and turn a white color, and take forever to warm back up. I remember seeing something a few years ago on Raynaud's, and thinking, hmmm. That looks familiar. My hair sheds bigtime in cycles, since my early 20's, and right now it seems to be really thinning out.
My mom has had health issues for several year, and I won't go into detail, but when I was in 5th grade, she had been to doctors, had tests, and no answers. Long story short, she ended up at the Mayo Clinic and they finally diagnosed her with fibromyalgia. Just in the last 2 years she was diagnosed with Lupus, which I'm sure she has had for awhile.
I'm just wondering what your thoughts are, and if any of you started out mildly, and then got worse. If this is Lupus, I definitely feel like this would be considered a flare right now.
I hope it was okay to post here. I am just really searching for an answer, and wonder if there is anything else I should tell/ask the doctor. I haven't mentioned any of this to my mom, as she would be extremely worried. I was planning on waiting to talk to her after my appt.
P.S.-I am a school teacher, married, and we have 4 children.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read and respond. I greatly appreciate it!
