does anyone have experience with hearing noises (that aren't there). No voices but will hear snips of music (often familiar ringtones or other music or repeating sounds of traffic or occasional dialogue from media). I tried explaining this to rheumatologist via phone (through 2 nurses) and was told stop plaquenil and f/u with ENT because plaquenil can cause tinnitus. But everything I have read about this states that complex sounds (music, language and varying noises) are not tinnitus. Anyone have experience with this? some days its like riding 'It's A Small World' at Disney and hearing the song for the rest of the day.

dx: lupus, RA, fibro, depression/anxiety, chronic migraines, insomnia, malabsorption

rx: Imuran, flexeril, plaquenil, latuda, Geodon, Xanax, Phenergan, synthroid, midrin, topical rx for skin, ibuprofen, zinc, vit d, biotin, b-complex, calcium, iron, multivitamin, vicodin cipro (x7 days). which if nothing else this cocktail should cure insomnia but no dice.

recent meds d/c: have been on 3 rounds of prednisone, methotrexate, nucynta, Cymbalta, lyrica, gabapentin, wellbutrin and previous antibiotics this year.

thanks

Go to an ears, nose and throat doctor for testing.
I have the same thing going on and found out I have moderate hearing loss. The noises and music is called Phantom noises. Your brain is trying to fill in the loss with suggestions.
It's a little madding to me. Late at night I think someone left the tv on or a neighbor has the radio too loud.
