Hello hello! I have Lupus SLE. Taking cellcept(250) and plaquenil(200)twice a day at the moment. I think all the holiday indulgences really did a number on me. I went for Korean fried chicken(loads of sauce, which means loads of msg I would assume) with a mate on the 26th of Dec. I have been feeling puffy/swollen, extreme fatigue ever since. Still couldn't stop me from eating like a mad man tho. Alas. Oh and I took extra strength oregano oil to fight off a cold on the 23rd and the 24th. It worked, the cold did not develop any further, but I know taking oregano oil is bad for lupus patients as it super charges your immune system.

I'd done urine tests at home a couple of times so far. Only once it showed what looked like some traces of protein.....that was maybe on the 2nd. I did one just now, and the protein was negative. Anyways, I called my doctor to try to schedule a rendez vous asap. At the same time, I would like to see if anybody here had experienced the same/similar situations before? Thanks!

If I drink soda I swell up. I try to limit my soda intake to one a month, but this past week I had a lot. My fingers are puffy from it.

Soda eh? I'm a Fresca junkie. Drinking at least once a day.......very bad I know! However, soda never affected me when it comes to puffing me up......I just don't understand that if there's no protein in my urine, which means my kidneys are functioning well, why the swelling?

My kidneys are good too, but I still swell up. I even take 80mg of lasix a day.

Oh man, I didn't know us with lupus can puff up even without kidney involvement. This sucks! Do you swell up for days straight? Or just one day then it goes away? Thank you!

If I don't take my lasix I can gain 10 pounds in fluid in one day.
I'm battling it every day. Soda just makes it worse for me.
My socks must be very loose at the ankles to adjust for my ankles puffing up. When I was working my legs looked like they were going to explode, because my skin was stretched so tight. I had tiny blood vessels popping in my legs making it look like I had the measles.
