I am new to the board and just looking for answers. I have so many symptoms, lots of lab work and no diagnosis. I am 43, had my thyroid removed in 2012 due to large goiter, multiple 2+cm masses and afterward found out papillary cancer. Did not have any further cancer treatment though as all was removed. On 250 mg thyroxine. Had taken b-12 shots twice monthly for 5 years up until this year and the dr. cut them out. B-12 is hanging right above normal right now. I am anemic. My iron, ferratin, TIBC are all normal, but percent saturation, hemoglobin and hematocrit, and red blood cells are all low. Everything else on CBC is normal.

Glucose is the only thing on the CMP that is not normal and I am a type two diabetic x 4 years. It was 150 fasting, but my AIC went from 6.1 to 7.2 in 3 months. Lipid profile is normal.

Sed rate usually hangs out 58-70 and was 60 this month. My lupus anticoagulant test was all normal. My last ANA was positive and titer and pattern were 1:640 and homogenous. ANA has been positive for 18 years that I know of. AntiDS DNA, Ccp, P-anca, Sjogren's Antib ss-A, anti-smith antibody were all normal.

Wondering if I could still have lupus despite these tests or if possible mixed connective tissue disease. My face has a thick pattern on forehead with spots as well. Definitely dark colored rash. Cheeks stay RED most of the time with a little across my nose. Has some spots in it. Have been getting green pea size knots under skin on face past two weeks (total of 6 or 7 with one behind ear and one at hair line). They don't come to a head like acne, but they do turn into a sore/scaring where they were. Joints are horribly sore all the time. Have really red, fire hot feet, and feels really thick and like you can't bend any part of the foot. Toes are cold and extremely sensitive to touch, painful, but also numb feeling. Have horrible leg cramps and feet spasms.

Have "peripheral neuropathy"? even though blood sugars have never been over 300. Fingers and hand are tight and sore. Some stomach issues. Have plantar fasitis and morton's neuroma also which makes walking almost impossible. Just miserable and want answers. Wondering about lupus, MCTD, MS?? Just want something to explain all the pain. It is 5:40 am and still awake! Lie in bed at night and feet kick and hurt and I hit them to help make them numb so I can sleep.

On B-12 pills, Vit-D, Multi-vit w/ Iron, Magnesium, Iron, Vit C., Gabapentin- 1800 mg/day, Lisinopril-HCTZ, Ultram 50mg, prn, Cymalta, Glimepiride, Kombiglyze and Levothyroxine. Want to come off some of this, but all this and still miserable. Help! Doc keeps running tests, but nothing definitive.

Oh, an lots of calcium still after surgery, but not nearly what I had to take for one year after it. Take 2 calcitrol (RX) 3 x day and calcium stays barely normal.

Are you seeing a rheumatologist?
If you feel he is not treating you right then find a new one. You sound like you have most of the indicators but then I'm no doctor.

I have not seen a rheumatologist since 2001. The primary care doctor has been running all the tests. Only specialist was a nerologist for one test and podiatrist who i have not had the $ to go to.

You need to see a rheumy. They can tell you if you have lupus or not. If that is impossible you can print off the 11 indicators of lupus and give it to your doctor. He can check and see if you meet the minimum 4 required. Maybe he will be willing to start you on predisone and plaquinel?
The list can be found online at lupus.org or in the thread here called "lupus 101".
