Hi I am feeling a little desperate at the moment as I am struggling with bad joint and muscle pain especially in lower back. Now I have a rash across my buttocks which the nurse treated with steroid cream and because I have a low grade fever antibiotics.
A few days later my right knee started to ache then h
Got stiff and puffy to the point I cannot bend it properly.
Returned to nurse who got Gp to look at it . She sent me to hospital incase it was septic arthritis which it wasn't . X-Ray was clear and bloods were fine . They dismissed it as some kind of reactive arthritis. Gave me voltorol .
Still sore with muscle and joint aches still have low grade fever but because bloods and X-rays are ok they have sort of left me with this pain. They did sign me off work for a week though .
Anyway my question is would they have tested for lupus? And also if my bloods were fine then it can't be arthritis as arthritis would show up in bloods as inflammation. Please help in pain and feeling very alone .

They have to run specific blood tests for lupus and RA and they have to follow the 11 indicators list for lupus. A rheumatologist has to follow the list to diagnose you. You need to meet at least four of the indicators.

Ask your doctor to send you to a rheumatologist.

Meanwhile try using heating pad on the achy joints.
