To clarify I propose to you the following actual scenario and invite your opinions and comments please.

I was a 2.5 pack a day smoker for 25 years. I was a very heavy Stoli Vodka drinker for better part of ten years (upwards of 1/2 bottle a day). Nevertheless, I was extremely healthy in so much as I never got sick or so much a headache in most of my life, nor ever hospitalized for illness and functioned very well and never hampered in business and sports activities. In October of 2004 at age 48 I decided to move overseas and quit Cold Turkey in one day both of these bad habits. Within a month I started to develop arthritic pains and it continued to get worse all the way to my move in May of 2005. In late June while in my new overseas home I decided to go Scuba Diving (June 21) and upon finishing the dive and back in my hotel room I felt dizzy and started sweating profusely. Long story short I was having an MI and ended up spending the next six days in intensive care and lost 25% of my heart and lost over 40 lbs. 200lb to 160lb in this same six day time frame. I was tested for many things and turns out I was positive for SLE Lupus which apparently caused a clot and thus the MI. My Heart Attack had nothing to do with high Blood Pressure or high Cholesterol as both of these factors were low.

Here it is 10 years later and I presently take Plaquenil for my Lupus (been doing so for 10 years) and absolutely nothing for my heart. My Lupus is mild and aside from the occasional rash and dizziness I feel pretty good. I work out and eat whatever I like. Oh and get this. Previously despite trying lots LOL, I was unable to have a child due to low sperm count/high motility. Yet in 2008 I was able to produce a child that is perfect in that she has not a single blemish or birthmark/freckle on her body and does not get sick in 7 years.

What I would like to ask your opinion about is this: and as crazy as it might seem, I am absolutely convinced my quitting smoking and drinking cold turkey as I did shocked my system and caused this all to occur. Remember, I was completely healthy for my entire 48 years of life until the MI and Lupus. Also there is no Lupus history in my family on either side except for one person my great, great Grandmother.

I know this probably defies all medical logic and reasoning but what other conclusion can I come up with. Cause and Effect. Simple as that

what do you think???
