trouble breathing

Every 6 mths or so I have a bad problem breathing.  I'll cough stuff up and run a high temp.  When I go to Dr.  he does a chest xray and never finds anything wrong.  I don't get it.It feels like I have pnemonia but it shows nothing.  He usually puts me on breathing treatments and prednisone.  I have asthma as is.  I have to take 2 inhalors every day but they can't figure out why.  Can lupus inflamation cause any of these symptoms?

It could be an allergic reaction to something.

Lupus can cause inflammation anywhere. So who knows?

Do you have a pulmonologist?
