Today I went into walmart and there was no riding carts available so I decided to walk. Less than 10 minutes in the store I started feeling woozy and weak. My SIL said my face was pale white. I went to sit down on a bench in the buggy area. It's less lit up. After 10 minutes the feeling past and I was able to walk to the car.

We next went into a small grocery store that wasn't as brightly lit and I rode a cart there. My mother said my color was back by then and I felt better.

I wear sun protective clothing and a sun hat, but it felt like I wasn't wearing any protection.

Also I just found out some of my blood work is pointing towards possible B 12 anemia. My mother and sister have it.

I get that way in Walmart. One time, I didn't think I was going to get out of the shoe dept. That's where I went to find a seat, because we were closest to that area. Hubs said I was white as a sheet. My vision was blurry, and I had a headache.

It took a long time before I could stand without falling back down immediately. Hubs was with me, thank the Lord, and he left the cart there to walk me to the car. I had the sun shade on the windows, and sat there while he went back in to get the cart, and pay for our groceries. I slept the whole afternoon after that.

I feel exhausted every time I go to Walmart. I can go to another grocery store that doesn't have skylights and fluorescent lights, and not feel that bad. I'm still in pain from walking around on hard floors, because of my skeletal issues, but I don't feel like I'm going to pass out, and I don't get the blurry vision. That store is a lot farther away though, so it's not as convenient.

hi, sort of having a munch on my stroll... and found that because of occipital neuralgia I too am light sensitive and do feel like passing out, hence laying down. I even change my computer screen for day / night time. just passing by. thought i'd say g'day.

Hi Tater,
Is there a difference with sun sensitivity with the different types of lupus? I have SLE which is drug
induced lupus from my arthritis meds. Looking at your "issues" we have quite a few in common but I have
an upside down heart and a trashed out spine thrown in ;) I guess I'm one of the lucky ones as I spend
much of each summer either mowing slo. wly and give up after about 3 off and on hours. It takes about
4 days to do most of the yard which is 2 acres with a push mower and then I spend a lot of time at the
pool. I'm 61 and have always worked in my yard but now I'm MUCH slower than I used to be.
With your allergies can you do any kind of perfumes? I find I can use none now and have gone to
totally unscented everything in the house. Hefty makes an unscented odor control trash bag..took me
FOREVER to find it. Target has unscented hand soap and of course All free and clear laundry stuff.
I also use apple cider vinegar in my rinse cycle on the washer to get even more gunk out of the clothes.
Hope it can help you too.

There is a variation of sun sensitivity I've found. about 30% of us don't have photosensitivity. I'm on the far end of the spectrum apparently.
I'm only 47 and I feel like an old woman. My 79 year old mother has more energy and stamina than me.

As for the allergy tips I already do all of that and more. I've found even scented toliet tissue will break me out.
