Hi everyone, this is Nikita,

I am deeply saddened to tell you that my mother passed away this morning. At around 7am she went in to cardiac arrest because her lungs no longer converted oxygen in to her blood, and her blood stopped clotting. At this point her doctors increased her medications to make sure that she was deeply sedated. Doctors performed CPR and were able to get a heart beat but they kept losing it. They continued CPR until close to 10am when we asked for them to stop.

My dad and I appreciate all of the prayer, positive thoughts, and well wishes. This community has provided her with a lot of support over the years and we all appreciate the support you have given her.

At this time we are making arrangements and more details will be given when they are made, so please wait before sending anything. Thank you.

Your mom is the best friend I could have when I found out I was sick. She hardly ever missed a day of calling me. sometimes 2 or 3 times. She is the greatest example of what a friend should be. She spoke of you and your father often. She was very proud of your accomplishments as well as your fathers service and devotion. I love your mom! On this world or the next I'm sure we will meet again. She kept m informed of your college days and I feel like I know you. I hope I get to continue to follow you in the days ahead. and watch the woman you have become continue to thrive. love carol

Here is what I told my "friends in real life", there is nothing else I can really say.

Barbara Lee Mutter, who just turned 51 last Sunday, passed away this morning from complications of Lupus. She leaves behind a daughter, Nikita, in her early 20's, and her husband, Bill, as well as many many friends from the Lupus community that she has supported over the years. I've talked with Barbara several times a week for over 10 years, and as I've gotten better she's always gotten worse but never, ever let me feel guilty or sorry for her. When my life was darkest, when my cognitive dysfunction made me feel like I was losing my mind and everything with it, Barbara carried the light and didn't let me quit. Barbara fought so bravely, rarely complaining but just keeping on, handling the next thing that came her way. I will miss her more than I can say. Rest peacefully, my dear friend, till we meet again.

I am so sorry for the loss of Barbara Lee.I didn't have the opportunity to get to know her as most here, but it was obvious she was special.

I will keep everyone here and her family in my prayers.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Barbara's passing. I can't begin to understand how you feel right now. Your mom fought so hard but her issues just got too much for her. I always checked in to see how she was doing. I'm saddened and shocked. Remember the good times, you'll have many happy memories.

Nikita,

Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of your mother. Barbara was a wonderful inspiration to many of us here at HealingWell.com, she was such a strong person who fought a tough battle with all she had. She was so proud of you and we all can see why without a doubt, even in this time of loss and heart ache for you and your family you have been so kind to remember Barb's friends here and keep us posted. God bless you, your family and please know that your mother is wrapped in His loving arms walking free from pain. My prayers are with you.

Nikita I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. Certainly she's in heaven watching over you and your Dad and doing all the fun things she was unable to do before. I'm thankful for all the encouragement she gave me and when I need strength and courage I will continue to think of her. My prayers are with you and your Father during this tough time. Love, Donna

Your mom will always hold a special place in my heart. I miss her so much already. I just received a Forever Friends card from her in the mail and she wrote "I'm thinking of you, I can't be there in person however, I can be there in spirit". Even when she was feeling so poorly, she still put others ahead of herself. She battled her illnesses with every ounce of strength she had right to end. Your mom was very proud of you and your accomplishments Nikita. Its going to be difficult for all of us without her, but I truly hope you can find some comfort in memories of the good times you shared together. I'm sure she is watching over you and your dad, that will never change. If you ever need to talk, I'm a good listener.

NIKITA

I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR MOTHER'S PASSING. ALL I CAN SAY IS FOR YOU TO CONTINUE TO DO WONDERFUL AND POSITIVE THINGS IN YOUR LIFE AND KNOW THAT YOUR MOTHER IS WITH YOU AND SMILING ALL THE WAY. I LOST MY MOTHER OVER 30 YEARS AGO AND SHE IS SOMEONE I NEVER FORGET. YOUR MOM IS YOUR MOM FOR YOUR ENTIRE LIFE AND AS SAD AS YOU FEEL NOW, SHE WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU.

BARB WAS A GOOD FRIEND AND WE SPOKE OVER THE YEARS ON THE PHONE. SHE WAS LIKE A NURSE (AS I AM) AND SO I RESPECTED HER KNOWLEDGE AND HER LOVING SPIRIT.

WHAT FIRST ATTRACTED TO ME TO HER ON HW, WAS THAT SHE ALWAYS TOOK THE TIME TO GREET NEW PEOPLE COMING INTO THE ROOMS. NO ONE WAS CONSISTENTLY DOING THAT AS BARBARA DID. THAT RIGHT THERE SHOWED ME HER RESPECT FOR ALL PEOPLE AND I KNEW I WANTED TO BE FRIENDS WITH HER RIGHT THEN AND THERE.

OVER TEN YEARS WE DISCUSSED OUR FAMILIES TOGETHER AND I CAN TELL YOU HOW PROUD SHE WAS OF YOU AND ALSO, BILL. YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED SO MUCH NIKITA AND YOU HAVE A LOT TO BE PROUD OF. SHE LOVES (PRESENT TENSE, LOVE NEVER DIES,) YOU SO VERY MUCH. NEVER DOUBT THAT.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU IN HIS LOVING CARE.

GOD BLESS YOU TOO, BARBARA. RUN THROUGH THE FIELDS IN HEAVEN!!!

WITH LOVE,

LINDA
