As I said I'm new here, my name is Amy and I was diagnosed with Lupus SLE in April of 2015. I haven't been able to find a decent rheumy yet especially that takes my insurance, but I'm working on it.
My question is, before I was diagnosed, for a few months, I started having severe migraines. They kept up for a while, then calmed down for a bit. Now, the past few months they have started in again, and my eyes get really blurry, among many other things. But, I just wondered if anyone else has these kinds of problems with migraines, and what can be done about them??confused
Anything without meds until I can get to a rheumy of course.
I'd really appreciate any advice you could give me.

I don't know of anything specific to Lupies as far as headaches are concerned. Healing Well does have a forum specifically for Migraines - I imagine reading over there will give you lots of hints for avoidance.

One thing that does come to mind is stress -- we tend to be even more sensitive to stress than the rest of the population - keeping low stress helps me keep headaches at bay.

Do you take anything for your migraines? I have suffered with migraines for 20 years. I take treximent.
Works well if I take it as soon as I feel the migraine coming. Takes longer if the migraine has already started. Also, there are some organic based pills that help some (didn't work for me) like Mirgrarelief. You can find it on amazon.

Good luck.
