Bare with me as I try to explain, I am truly baffled and don't know if this is lupus related, hormonal or what. I just know it hurts like heck, I've made an appointment to go see my primary this afternoon. I have had what I thought were blind pimples on my chin and on my forehead, the area between my eyebrows. Now the entire right side of my face has little cysts or pimples under the skin. The pressure is enormous! My right ear hurts, my sinuses, my teeth and my head and brain as strange as that sounds feel tight and swollen.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? I am having some issues with my liver, my counts have been up and I am scheduled to have labs redrawn today because of that. I'm wondering if this could be something to do with my body not flushing toxins. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Melissa

So much of what happens to we Lupies is mysterious and strange - I try to always remember that Lupus means "wild auto-immune system that attacks anything randomly". It's probably Lupus deciding to attack your face.

That said, the treatment is probably more targeted to what's going on than it is to Lupus. Maybe some kind of inflammatory skin thing? Maybe a dermatologist?

Sorry, I haven't heard of anything quite like that - I'm sure you are drinking water in an attempt to help your liver out. That's about the only suggestion I have.

Good that you can see a Dr today. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Thank you Lynnwood. I live in a fairly small town (that's why I travel 3 hrs to my rheumy) and it's near impossible to get into a dermatologist without a 6 month wait. So, I figured I would start with my primary and he could possibly call over and get me in to the dermatologist after he sees what I'm dealing with. He's used to me coming to him with the most unusual of things unfortunately.

Oh yes, water is about all I drink these days.

Sounds like epidermal cysts. I had them on my chin for awhile. The doctor had me use a tetracycline cream on them to dry them up.

Was your primary able to help you, Melissa?

Thanks for the info Couchtater, I will keep that in mind when I see my dermatologist. No, he didn't have a clue Lynnwood, he referred me to a dermatologist, but they can't get me in until the 23rd, uggg.

I do have a sinus and ear infection on the right side, so that is why I feel so much pressure on top of all of the cysts. My primary prescribed antibiotics and two nasal sprays.
