It does take longer to recover from the deeper massages than pre-Lupus. I have my massage therapist do about
1/2 as deep as it feels like she should go.
Also make EXTRA sure to drink lots of water the next couple of days, plus soak in a tub of warm/hot Epson salts - both drinking water & salts help pull the lactic acid (which is what makes you feel sore) out of the body.
Since I'm disabled from my Lupus, I don't have the money to get massages like I used to -- something I really miss. Glad you can still do it, just get your massage person to work with you to find a level of intensity that is productive without wiping you out.
