The palms of my hands have been painful for the last 2 wks and now they are puffy and red. Painful to touch. I started putting ice packs on them and that helps for a little while. Is this connected to my lupus?

The overactive immune system in Lupus often find strange places in the body to attack! I used to get swollen toes for no good reason - my Drs said it was just where my Lupus chose to attack that day.

Sounds like your hand inflammation is a similar thing - Lupus deciding your hands are foreign bodies that need to be attacked!

You might need to talk with your Dr if this continues much longer - generally a small dose of prednisone for a week or two will help knock out the inflammation.

Thanks Lynnwood, This is new. Today they are tender and not too puffy but the ice sure helped.
