Hi Everyone. I'm in hospital again. I went to ER with extreme headache and fatigue. They ran CT and then MRI. I have a blood clot deep in my brain. I'm resting and being monitored until the neurologist checks me again on Monday. Life with Lupus is a full life. Love, Butterflake

Thanks for the loving reply and prayers Melissa. More docs have looked at the films anHi d have d ecided it's a solid mass too deep to operate. I was discharged yesterday and will call today to schedule the needle biopsy. Yep, life with Lupus is a full, busy life. Love, Butterflake

Oh, drat! Sorry to hear this - are they able to do anything to alleviate the headache? My guess is not - ouch.

Keep us posted.

Hi Lynnwood and BreRosie. I slept lots at home today between making calls for medical appointments and meds. I'm very tired. I've been on oxycodone since Aug 28 and it relieves the intense headache most days. While admitted this week they had me on morphine and it squelched the headache.

New pt admission from "The Brain Specialists" should call tomorrow to schedule my biopsy. Since it's inoperable they will drill a small hole in my skull, stick the long, thick needle in and pull out some (aspirate) tumor. The stay should be about 7 days. If it's malignant (a glioblastoma) I will get radiation, chemo, and no hair.

At least with Lupus I have a collection of hats! I have a cool cowboy hat on my Amazon list and already own some cute short boots. Because of my knee replacement I bought leggings and tunics- easy to wash and wear.

For years I've said Lupus likes to dance in my lungs and my brain. Guess my brain was the better dancer. Thanks again for the replies ladies. Love, Butterflake

Butterflake, My prayers are with you that the biopsy is benign and can be shrunk with chemo and radiation. Sending prayers, gentle hugs and good vibes your way.

Just an update. Hubby and I met with my brain doc for over an hour this week. Did I mention that he is one of the top brain docs in the country? Perhaps I'm mentioning it again because it makes me feel good to know that I'm in great hands.

Hubby took me for pre-op blood and paper work yesterday. It's amazing how quickly my thinking has deteriorated. I need to sleep a while but I will keep you posted. Love, Butterflake

Hi Butterflake,

Glad you guys were able to meet with the "brain guy" - very glad you have one of the top Drs around! Very cool!

Do you have a date for the biopsy? Hope you don't have to wait (and worry) too long.

Take care,
