Hi, I have a few simple questions please.

When is the best time to take Plaquenil, morning or evening

Is it best to take 200 in the morning and 200 in the evening, or is it better to take it all at once.

I have had a UTI infection recently which I have been treated for. I still feel like something is not quite right there and read that Lupus can cause problems with your kidneys..what do I need to look out for? And would it be wise to see someone to make sure everything is okay. Would that be a urologist?

My eyes are a bit sore and itchy, again, I read that Lupus can cause problems with your eyes. Do you think I should go and get them checked out or is this just normal Lupus stuff.

I never had any issues with taking all 400 mg of Plaquenil in the morning. Some people experience some mild stomach upset for the first few days, but generally it goes away fairly quickly.

I believe kidney issues often first present as dark, foamy urine. I think your normal primary care physician would be the first person to investigate since you are still "feeling off" since your UTI.

Lupus doesn't generally cause eye issues. However, there is a rare eye situation that can be caused by Plaquenil. Here is more information about that. Plaquenil and Your Eyes rolleyes You should have a baseline exam with an ophthalmologist; make sure to tell them you are taking plaquenil and they will know which test to do.

Hope that helps!
