I have been hacking up green goo and prior to that had the sore throat and stuffy nose.. No it moved to my lungs. My Rheumi called in the ZPAC for me... Im on day 4 and still feeling like crap. So I called his office and left a message about this. The nurse called back and talked to my husband and wanted to know if I hat a UTI or burning sensation. He told her that my cheeks were burning. LOL... because I have the lupus rash comming and going when my fever is up... but my question is does anyone know why they would ask about a UTI and burning when I have bronchitis???? HELP So he is seeing me tommorow and I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
beyond stressed out that my hacking will be gone in the morning. THat the Zpac will kick in. THe appt is at 9:30 AM.... They open at 9:00 and the phone lines are so busy that I cant get thru to cancell if I am better. Plus if you cancell the same day its a 50.00 dollar fee.. . What am I to do? Any suggestions? I dont want him to think I am a hypochondriac if my coughing has stopped by tommorow... Im so worried. Worried sick... My husband is comming with me...

Can you call the office after hours and leave a message for someone to call you first thing in the morning? In the message tell them why you're calling and what your concerns are. Some offices have strict rules but some are more understanding. I hope yours is the latter.

I'd say if you are still that sick, you should probably keep you appointment in the morning even if your hacking is somewhat better in the morning. I'd think that the Zpac should have started helping by now, so you might have a really bad infection. I have no idea why they would ask about a UTI.

I'm really sorry you are so sick. Hang in there and let us know how it goes tomorrow.

Take care

I have never had good luck with zpacs. I wont take them anymore as they dont do a thing for me. If you had/have an UTI you would need a more powerful broad spectrum med I would think. UTI's can quickly progress if not treated. Maybe the nurse was trying to figure out the root of your infection. It is an odd question, I agree.

It is a weird question. The only thing I can think of is sometimes when you take antibiotics you can get a UTI. but what that has to do with this is beyond me. I agree you should keep you appt:. If you are still hacking you might need somthing else. I would not worry about your doctor. He/she isn't you. You're the one that is sick and with concerns. This is your body. You have a right to question what is going on with it. I hope you are feeling better tomorrow but it's still worth a trip to the doctor if you are concerned. I doubt they would have told you to come in if they didn't agree with you. You know what stress does to us. So quit worrying.
Feel better

Hi Kookla,
I took the ZPAC for the bronchitis and it continues to work after you stop taking it for a few days, it should say that on the package, and my bronchitis held out till like the last day, but I did feel I was slowly getting a little better on day 5 but then more rapidly after. During that time of the bronchitis clearing up, the infection gave me a half day of stomach flu, probably from mucus, then turned into a nice UTI which I had to take two different antibiotics to get rid of (Tequin finally worked, I guess). I think that particular infection runs the gamet through your entire system. The guys in my house didn't get a UTI, but it did hang on like mine did and they did get a little gi when it was leaving their systems. Guys never get UTIs. Anyway, I had another UTI like four weeks later so I don't know if you can say it ever went away. I took doxycycline for the last UTI and it did clear up pretty much after that though my urologist is giving me some extra pills to extend the tx a little longer.
I think that infection really gets through your whole body. My throat was so so so raw and sore and I was so so sick feeling and congested. I hope you kick it. Maybe that is why the nurse is asking about the UTI, because people are getting them with that infection? All I know is that my doctors office said that this strain missed the flu and pneumonia vaccines and its really awful. I sure hope you feel better soon and that you don't get a UTI afterwords like I did.

I agree w/Hippimom. If the antiobiotic worked, it should have worked by now. You are on the four days already and still feel like crap. I think you should keep the appt and do not worry about the symptoms would be gone.
