My lawyer sent a letter confirming what the judge said at the hearing and that it would take up to 6 weeks to get the letter. Then he says it can take up to six weeks to get the first payment. I am gathering all the stuff I need now so as soon as I have the letter in hand I can go to the local office and get them to process a hardship payment. He said that can be done and it means immediate payment being issued. I will also be calling and letting my Senator know how my hearing went and that when I have the letter I will need the help of his office to get the money quickly as I will be homeless July 31. Yep you read that correctly I will no longer have a home on July 31. It could happen sooner but I can likely put them off by giving them a copy of the letter from my lawyer. I will also ask my lawyer a copy of his letter to my senator so I can show them that others are aware I am about to lose housing. Nice to be able to do such stuff. I have everything but the letter from the ALJ's office and the proof or income from my husband's work. I am hoping since I am a hardship case it will be processed quickly. I am going to have hubby check on the letter technically today but for me I consider it tomorrow since he forgot while he was at work.
Does anyone have any ideas for me on how to handle getting the rush payment or has anyone done the rush payment thing before? I am clueless at how to get the social security system to work for me. I hate that. It sucks.
I hope everyone is doing well. I am still in a ton of pain but hey I see pain intervention in a few weeks for a pain block injection- hubby says he will make sure I get the injection because he is fed up with me being in such pain. I am kind of feeling less negative. My mood has been better and I am a little bit excited.
I also see a kidney specialist this month- I was suposed to last month but the morning of the appointment I couldn't stand on my leg or walk let alone drive. They were kind enough to reschedule and not penalize me. Wish me luck with that one- my rheumy thinks despite my blood work being okay that with all the fluid in my tissues something is up with my kidneys.

Hi Rose! I'm so excited that things are starting to fall into place for you. Maybe if you don't for some reason get your check before july 31 you can show the letter to who ever you make rent payments to? I'll be praying that you get it before that happens. I'm sorry you are in pain but glad there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I do know the feeling of releif when you fight for somthing you need and finally get it approved! It's just to bad we have to practically loose everything until that happens. But yeah no dwelling on the neg. You got approved Yippii! Tell you hubby he dog gone better take you to get your shot! LOL.

No doubt that the stress is causing more pain for you. I'm glad that things are rolling for you now. It sounds like you have a good lawyer and judge for your case and that you will be feeling the extra weight lifted shortly. I agree with Carol in showing the letter to your landlord so they will know that they will be getting the money soon. I'm sure that they would prefer that than the hassle of getting the place ready for another tenant. Please keep your chin up, better days ahead. :-)
