I woke up yesterday and two of my finger joints and one of my wrists were swollen and painful. It is better today but still hurts. Prior to this, I've always just had "aching". Is this common?

Gloryroad, I'm no expert but it seems odd to me alot of people here have had to have carpul tunnel surgery including myself. I also have had to put my finger joints back in place( talk about painfull ) Try explaining that one to a doc! They just look at you like lady you are nuts! ( of course this was all before lupus dx ) I have learned to live with it. I just seen on here recently where they can do shots in place of surgery sometimes. I believe alot of us have trouble with are hands & feet. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

gloryroad, I always have pain in my hands and fingers, but sometimes I also get the swelling and they also feel hot. My understanding is it can be part of the arthritis we can experience with lupus. However, since this is a new symptom, it would be a good idea to let your doc know, especially if it doesn't go away or gets worse. I hope you get some relief soon. Take care
