I was just wondering if any of you get fevers with monthly hormone changes.

Each time that I get really sick and flu feeling it either starts during ovulation, or right before or during my period.

Just wondering if anyone else experienced this.

Was wondering if I could have some kind of smoldering infection somewhere in my female parts, or if it would be possible to have flares start with hormone changes.

Thank you

Darlene, I can count on having a flare up of my symptoms the week before my cycle starts and usually for the first few days of my cycle. With the increased symptoms I usually get a low grade fever during this time too. I;ve read that it can be pretty common for this to happen to women with lupus right before their cycle starts. There are also some theories floating around out there about how hormones might play a part in some flares. To be on the safe side though, it wouldn't hurt to get things checked out with a gyno doc.
Diagnosis:  UCTD (lupus) 2006; Raynauds 2006; Sjogren's 2006; lupus symptoms began 2003; CFS 1991; Mono 1985
Meds:  Plaquenil 400mg; Prednisone 5-10mg; Tramadol 100mg 3-4x daily; Doxepin 25-50mg; Prevacid; Steriod Cream and Mouth Rinse for tongue and mouth ulcers; Hydrocodone 5/500 prn for severe pain; Artificial tears

I used to get low grade fevers when I ovulated. It's normal
You can try taking Evening Primerose Oil to stop that.

Ain't it fun being a women ;-)

I have heard its normal to get low grade fevers during ovulation as well. In fact, I know some women use it when they are trying to conceive as a sign when its the right time to "try". I think its called Basal method or something like that... I think some people use this as a sign too when they are trying not to conceive for certain religions that don't believe in birth control.

HI, I always get a fever about a week before I get my period. I get chills and sweats really bad and most of the time ache more during this week than I do all month.  I usually feel as though I have a good cold coming on or the flu.  about the 3rd day of my period this feeling ends.  I have no solution for this but to know that I will encounter it most every month.  It sucks.
