Hi Everyone, it's been a long time since I last posted. It's been a very rough summer for me. I hope that everyone is doing well and fine.Long story, my pcp referred me to a hemo/oncol for a second dx and treatment. The problem was that he didn't agree with my other hemo/oncol treatment plan. He let my iron stores go down to nothing and that's when I start having problems with anemia/luekopenia. I was so ill, I went back to my other hemo/oncol, who was glad to see me back, he ran tests and the next day I was in for a 5hr. iron/dextran infusion.  It's been a few weeks now, but I'm getting stronger.  My fibro has been very bad, and my new lower back problems are a misery. I see a pain management physician on a regular basis and he manages my pain medication and therapy.
I've popped in from time to time to see how everyone is doing, but I wasn't up to writing. Tomorrow, at 7:30 a.m, I have an appointment with my original rheumie. It will be good to see him again, it's been about 5 yrs.  After traveling all over the state for years, hoping to find the best care, I have found here, closer to home. If I ever need it, I don't want to be in a hospital so far away my family won't be able to see me. There's also something very comforting in being close to home for healthcare.
I hope that everyone has a good evening, and a good night's rest,   Peaceful Harpist

Welcome back. I too havn't been on for long time 'cos so many things happened during the summer. I am sorry to hear that you have been ill and that your other hemo didn't take a good care of you, but glad things work out finally. Anyway, good to hear that you finally find a good rheumie (your original one). I think that's the most important thing for all of us. I hope I can find a good one too after I move to UK.

Hey Cynthia,

It's great to hear from you (I just started posting again too). But, I'm sorry you are having such a rough time . . . its good that you were able to get back in to see your old docs who where very familiar with all of your issues . . . I hope your new treatment plan will have you feeling better soon.

Hugs and blessings!

I also have been away for a while.  It is nice to be back.  Welcome back PeacefulHarpist!
I am sorry the summer was so rough for you.  It can be tough.  I was feeling wonderful for a while then hit a difficult patch for the past few weeks.  I am finally feeling better and I hope you feel 100% very soon.
All the best :)
