Hi Amy,

I sure don't know anything about your questions . . . but surely the doc who ordered the flushes would be able to tell you where to have them done. Is this something typically done by a family member or friend who gets trained how to do it? I think PeacefulHarpist had or was going to have a medport . . . maybe she'll see your post and be able to help.

So glad to hear that your labs are improving . . . woooo hooo!!! Love that kind of news!!

Your doctor should be able to order a home health care nurse to be able to do this - or you should be able to have it done in a physicians office. I've been taking care of ports for years and we only flush them once a month. Are the medications that you are receiving being given through the port? If they are, then your doctor will flush the port after the infusions. If this is being done at least once a month, your port will be fine.

I'm so sorry you had to have your thumb amputated and that you had a medport put in. I hope you can figure out how to get help with it and agree that you should call your doctor and ask for help. How great that your labs are coming back normal! I hope that means the end of this flare.

Take care!
