CURE for sores on corners of mouth

For those of you plagued by sores that crack at the corner of your mouth, my dermatologist told me to put diaper rash ointment on the sores each night.  I bought Desitin, but Balmex or any 40% zinc oxide works.  My mouth sores were gone within a week!
Dx: SLE diagnosed 2005, major depressive disorder, diabetes, fibromyalgia, gerd, sleep apnea (use a CPAP), hypertension, IBS
Tx: plaquenil, methotrexate, Imuran, prednisone, prozac, celebrex, lisinopril, actos, lipitor, nexeum, seroquel, arthritis tylenol  PRN: ambien, neurontin, promethazine, xanax
supplements: multi vitamin, C, flaxseed oil, calcium/D

I luckily haven't had sores on the corners of my mouth yet but I know that many on here have had a problem with that. I'll keep this in mind when the time comes for me... thanks for sharing that tip!! :-)

Thanks butterflake, I put Desitin on my shopping list. Those sores are such a pain! No pun intended!

My mom uses that for her sores!!!  I'm glad it works for you too!  Hmmmmm, maybe there's something in diaper ointment that would cure our lupus!!! Wouldn't that be crazy.....

Oh, yesssss! I had some awful ones this summer that I could not get rid of for about 6 weeks. Had I only known all I had to do was borrow some of my granddaughter's Balmex that's right upstairs. So close and yet so far....
