It's not my intention to start a political debate here. However tonights debate was in a town hall type setting. The candidates were surrounded by the general public. While watching; I was thinking to myself I wish I could be there in the audiance wearing a lime green fund lyme disease research T-shirt.

I watched the debate and post-debate coverage on CNN.  After a segment, there was a commericial about the health care crisis.  A woman briefly described her illness (which turned out to be Lyme) and went on to say she was left with 50K in medical bills (even though she had insurance).   I hope it was eye opening to those watching.

On a side note, I'm disappointed that the debates and recent discussions in the media about health care have not focused more attention on one of the key problems....the unethical practices of the insurance industry.  I hope things will change SOON but I'm not optimistic.

Unfortunatly given the current economic condition here in the Unites States, the economy is taking center stage. Health care reform will take a back seat in either administration as long as the housing market and economy is stuggling. mad

Haha....We should have all gotten tickets, flown there, and sat in the back with a big banner about lyme disease...
Lyme and co-infections since approximately 2002. Diagnosed in 2005. Treated for two years solid. Diagnosed with Lymphomatoid Papulosis in October 2007. Currently back on abx.
