I am getting differing opions from Doctors. How low does your WBC count have to to before they take you off ABX? My count is 2.7. My local Dr. said it is fine but every time my white count dips below 3.0 my lyme Dr usually takes me off all abx. The problem is I can never seem to keep my count up. Anyone have experience with this.

Thanks,

If my WBC goes below 3.0 my LLMD takes me off everything. It went down to 2.3 and 2.6 in March and April and he immediately stopped all my abx. It took almost 3 weeks for it to get above 3.0 again. He also wanted me to stay away from crowds because he said I was at high risk for infection and if that happened he told me it could be life threatening.

I work in retail so had to take a few weeks off. I have always been in the low 3.0's since becoming sick. I have mine tested every month or if it gets into the 2.0's every two weeks. Hope this helps.

Thanks ktp812! It is helpful to know that I am not the only one with this issue. It seems like it is going to be impossible to get over this disease if I have to keep getting pulled off abx. I guess I need patients. Thanks again.

Hi nunntrio.  Do you have Ehrlichiosis?  It can cause a low WBC in some people.

Hi Ticker,

As far as I know I do not had Ehrlichiosis. I have tested neg. for it twice. I am not sure how accurate the testing for it is.
