So my boyfriend went for a second opinion to another MS doctor today, and once again as usual it was said that if lyme was treated for 30 days with IV antibiotics its been taken care of and it cant possibly create any more problems....WHY ARE THESE DOCTORS SO STUPID?

is it because theres so much money in MS that theyd rather let someone be misdiagnosed and collect a bigger pay check?

i feel like im fighting a loosing battle, i know deep down this still has to be lyme, and yet, everyone around me is slowly jumping on the MS wagon bc well of that many neurologists say it heck it must be MS..

am i in denial? im not sure, i dont think so...im just soooooo frustrated i cant take it anymore

AmandaC,

As you are probably aware, MS and Lyme have many of the same symptoms.  Not long ago I was wondering which of the two was causing my problems (turns out it is Lyme).  Has your boyfriend had a Lyme test through IgeneX?  seen a Lyme literate doctor (LLMD)?  I know it is frustrating but hang in there.   Although, I have tested positive for Lyme I have yet to see a LLMD because the waiting lists are very long.  If you think he may have Lyme make an appointment with an LLMD right away (you can always cancel if the MS diagnosis is confirmed).  In the meantime, try to get his GP to OK a Lyme test through IgeneX.  Good luck.

weve done that all already, were almost a year into treatment and his blood and spinal fluid have come back positive, however many drs believe if you were treated for 30 days it can no longer be lyme and this is where MS has come up.

its a constant battle, and sad that these drs are so misinformed

You must get a new doctor immediately.

Hi, there is a video out by Dr.Phillips.  Can you try to get to him or another doc who is aware of the connection and believes in chronic and immunological manifestations of Lyme?  Can you show Under Our Skin to your doc?  However, either way, sounds like you still need to get him to another doc.
