I tried Acupuncture for the first time tonight. The lady also did some vibration technique that is supposed to rebalance my CNS. She said she is 1 of 3 people in the US that does this, but I don't know if it's true. When the vibration thing (I need to find out the name of this) was done, she said my body emitted a lot of heat, which she says is common with Lyme.

I wasn't feeling too bad when I went in, but I was hurting when I left. I thought the opposite would be true. I've been hurting all night, but I guess this is normal.

She recommended Tumeric for my vertigo, too.

What are your experiences with acupuncture?

Do you feel it helped you?

I generally think one feels more relaxed and less pain, but with Lyme patients depending on how it has affected your system and where you are in treatment I think one could have a "healing reaction" as my chiro says.  Almost like a herx.  I know I do.

I had a really bad migraine all day yesterday, so I called the lady who did the acupuncture. She told me that it was a "healing crisis", which is like a herx. I guess I was expecting immediate results for the vertigo, so I was sad that it didn't cure it immediately. But, I don't know whether or not to be encouraged by this healing crisis, as she said it is my bodies way of eliminating toxins.

I asked what the vibration technique was and she said it was called Kita.

I am starting accupunture. I know that I am only able to do small amounts of treatment at a time. The amount they would do on a child. When you have Lyme, you are very sensitive to treatments and will kind of herx. I was very sore and swollen the first time I was treated because she didn't know how much I could take. She was just doing a clearing treatment...Now she is taking things very slow. Hopefully that will help me not get sore and swollen. I know I do get very relaxed during treatment! but, I do have terrible hot flashes and my pulse is crazy.
