Here is my story:

Became very ill August 2007.  Had flu like symptoms, lowgrade fever, body aches, fatigue, major abdominal pain, and an irritable bowel type of thing without the diaherra.  Symptoms went on for five weeks before I was tested (Western Blot) for Lyme.  Had positive IGM, the beginning of Oct 2007.  Started Doxy 200mg/day.  Decided to see and LLMD, the more I read.  LLMD continued Doxy 200/mg until end of Dec 2007.  Started Ceftin 1000mg in January 2008 for one month.  End of January started IV Rocephin...did Rocephin for 10 weeks.  After 10 weeks did Ceftin 1000mg and Zithro 250 for 3 months and felt pretty good.  Went to Mexico in July.  Got food poisoning.  Inceased Zithro to 500mg and things started falling about in August.  Unable to get out of bed, got some hives. LLMD takes me off Zithro completely.  Stayed on Ceftin and started getting sicker.  Low abdominal pain, like in the lymph glands, sciatica, major overall weakness, nightsweats, insomnia.  Started Mepron and did that for 2 weeks.  Suffered major abdominal pain.  Switched LLMD's middle of this past Oct.   Took me off Ceftin, and started Omniceff 600mg/day.  Put me on Malarone for four days. (four pills a day for four days only.)  After a week, he decided I had Bart.  Took me off Malarone and put me on Levaquin 500/mg along with the Omniceff for Lyme.  Things started changing in my lower lymph area, a few bladder flare ups, pelvic flare ups, which now seem better.  Today I feel terrible though.  Major body aches, malaise, lightheadedness,  nausea, sciatica, fatique.   Also over the last month I have this twitching/itch in the bottom of my right foot, the same side as the sciatica.

I have been tested both through Igenex and Stoneybrook and only test positive for Lyme IGM.  All co-infections test neg.  However that said, I was on abx's each time I was tested.

I have been on Omniceff for 4 week and Levaquin for 3 weeks.  Shouldn't I be feeling better than this?? This is a horrible day.  Anyone have an experience like mine.  I'm beginning to think I will never get better.  Is this some kiind of herx?

Help!

Hi sosickoflyme,

sorry you are having such a hard time right now!! GI symptoms have been, and continue to be my worst symptom. I also have been on Levequin, but cut it short when I started to have tendon pain. you could very well be having a herx. I know it seems like things will never get better, but give it time.
Be cautious with levequin if you start having tendon pain.

Hi Sosickoflyme,

I'm sorry you are feeling so bad!! It's hard to say if you should be feeling better by now. I know that it takes some of us a long time to get better!! Have you had any kind of improvement at all??

I have heard over and over that those who are the sickest usually have co infections. I thought I didn't have any due to my symptoms, and it turns out I have both bart and ehrlichiosis. I have been in treatment Since Jan 07. I have made improvements, but still have some really crummy days!!

I am off abx and currently using a rife machine. I have had some major herxing with the rife. I rife for babs even though I didn't test positive, just in case I do have it. There are many days when I wonder if I will ever be well. I had three months last spring when I felt good!! I thought I had turned a corner and was almost recovered. Then in June I started having some bad days again and even more in July. I started rifing in Mid July which brought on more herxing.

It's interesting that when your dr started the bart treatment that you had some pelvic flare ups. Pelvic pain is a bart symptom. Maybe that was some sort of herx. I've heard that bart is really hard to treat which bums me out because I have it.

What helps me out is detoxing the toxins and also a good diet. Sugar and simple carbs make me feel very ill. I also make sure I take probiotics everyday.

I hope you start to feel better soon. This dd stinks!!!
