Yes, I had been told that Mepron can affect people - make them anxious, depressed, very irritable, etc. I noticed it within the first week and I think it stayed with me for a while. I believe I have heard others on the site talk about Mepron being a tough drug to take. My doctor did not say anything about it but my home care nurse mentioned it to me after I said I was having a tough time..

Thanks so much for posting about this.  Maybe it should be added to the "Newbies" sticky thread on the forum.  It is very useful info.  Thanks again.  Best wishes.  bablymers mom

Thank you for that post.
When I received my first bottle of Mepron my pharmacist had never dispensed it before and basically just read what the insert said. I called my brother in law (a pharmacist in a big city) and he new nothing about the drugs mechanics, it's side effects or absorption issues.
It's through this site,, I've learned about taking it with not only food but food with fat in them, I've learned about the side effects and I've even learned how to get the think yellow stuff out of the dosage cup.
What's interesting is yesterday my above mentioned brother in law asked what was wrong, he couldn't understand why I was still sick, I'd been on Mepron/Zithro for 4 weeks "What ever you have should have cleared up by now". So choose your pharmacist carefully.
