I called Igenex and they said they faxed my coinfection to my drs yesterday. I am scared they were negative. I know it sounds silly but I want a pos on something so I can get treatment or at least KNOW what the heck is wrong with me! I figured one of my drs would have called if it was positive.

I dont know what to do and am so down in the dumps.

They may not have had a chance to look at the results, or maybe they were out of the office when the results came in. So no response from them does not mean the test was or wasn't positive. You might want to call your doctors tomorrow - it's your right as a patient to talk to them and get your test results.

Take care,

Give your doctor's office a call first thing tomorrow and ask them how you can get you hands on a copy of the results asap. They should be able to accomodate you and you have a right to see your results asap.

HERE'S MY EDIT:  The advice I have given is coming directly from me, a LD patient who has not once, but twice, stood in a doctor's office lobby and said at the top of my lungs "I WANT A COPY OF MY RECORDS AND I WANT THEM NOW.  THE FASTEST WAY TO GET ME OUT OF YOUR OFFICE IS TO GIVE ME A COPY NOW", ETC., ETC. - repeat as necessary.  I know it's "dramatic" but you would be amazed at just how well it works.  The shame of it all is that it has to come to this in the first place!

Lyme is a clinical diagnosis, therefore negative test results do not rule out Lyme/coinfections. If your test results are negative, I'd ask if the doctor thinks you still may have Lyme, and/or I'd ask for the antibiotic challenge and urine test from IgeneX - click on "WHAT TEST(S) TO ORDER" on IgeneX.com for a better explanation.

Also, keep in mind that most LLMD's are really busy and so they may not have had a chance to call you. Don't fret - most of my doctors don't call me with test results either, no matter how abnormal they are.

Good luck,

Do not be worried you might have a negative test..I had my co-infections done last June and was positive for Bart. I didn't find this out until my appt. in July so they never called me to let me know. If you are really concerned just give them a call and let them know you are anxious about the results.

I am always calling my doctor's office if I am anxious about any test results. I am lucky in we have a fax here at my home and I just have everything faxed to me. Please call them so you won't have to worry until you see the doctor.
