I don't have a literate doctor to advise me and I am confused about what is happening to me.

My progress towards recovery was going pretty well, my CD57 results came back at 168, so I quit abx (ketek) and started Zhang's herb's last June.  I felt pretty well except my eyes never recovered (dry and sensitive) and I continued to have hot flashes especially at night.  I also have problems with insomnia off and on.   I could not tolerate the Allicin (garlic) so I switched to Coptis along with Circulation P.  Later I added Puerarin to try to help my mental fog which is terrible.  Two months ago when I felt more symptoms, I added R5081.  A month ago symptoms became more pronounced.   Occasional spasms, headache every night, lots of hot flashes, very dry eyes, sonstant insomnia and some muscle cramps with lingering pain for weeks.  So I took another week of Ketek to try to knock it back - and just quit it.

I have ordered the test kit from IGENEX and will get blood work done for babesia and bartonella - just in case.  I think my biggest complaint is my eyes, not sleeping well, and the hot flashes.  I have never had a fever I know of.  I go from cold to hot.  My urine is not brownish and I have had tests - it has no blood.  But my bladder is sensitive - in the past it hurt.  I have pain every day in my lower legs especially the shins.  I thought it was tight socks so quit wearing them but no relief.

What is going on?  I don't know how to tell what is relapse, what is herx, what is what.

Yeah, I know EXACTLY what you mean. I try to do everything right and still have issues. My LLMD told me "Youre not so bad off. Others are really wiped out." Well that's true I suppose, but I"M STILL SICK.

Anyways, it can take a while sounds like. I've noticed that some people get well when treated for a co-infection instead of LYME. Maybe the lyme was gone long ago, and the co-infection allowed to fester.
