Woodswalker,...YES..YEARS!
i have news for you....
If you have not already figured this out. You are in for a long battle. I have been fighting this thing for 4 years. with a slow progression down ward.
There is a lot to be learned about fighting this disease and all it nasty co-infections. And we are the pioneers it seems. Lucky us!
My best advice would be to get your finances in oder and get ready for a tough time. Get rid of over head that you do not need. cut back on stress big time.
I dumped all of my homes in the last couple of years. worked out well for me, since I was losing my edge and my mind...lol
You are on a ton of stuff. Man...are you getting this all in a IV?
How old are you?
2004 in Martha's Vineyard me and my two daughters then 11 mos and 6 all got Lyme Disease. This was only known to us because we found the tiny ticks on us and we got very ill. My dog also got lyme and he went lame.
We have fought it for 4 years to no avail.
We all got it again this summer is Texas.
I am now in treatment in Scottsdale Arizona at Envita.

Wow. That wasn't what I expected to hear. Guess I have a lot to think about.

To answer your questions-- No IV and I'm 48

It all depends. Everyone is different. I responded quickly. I have been on Doxy now for 2 1/2 months.

It is not necessarily years for everyone, but certainly months, depending on how long you have been ill, pre-existing conditions and the presence of any co-infections.

Stay positive.

I was sick for 13 months before I was diagnosed and started seeing an llmd. I've been on abx for eight months now and have seen much improvement (very gradual).  I guess you could say I'm on a lot of stuff too: Rifampin, Cefdiner, Plaquenil, Zithromax, Valtrex, Nystatin (also was previously on Mepron) and taking a lot of herbs and vitamins. I'm tolerating all of this very well as long as I stick to a healthy diet (no sugar, flour, etc.).

Hi woodswalker,

I was not diagnosed with lyme and ehrlichiosis for at least 5 years after I became infected and I was on Dr. Jernigan's protocol for about 8 months and have been in remission ever since.  That was about 3 years ago.

So no, I do not believe a person has to be on chemical antibiotics for years unless they are the type of person who is not able to think "outside the box".

I do believe with the right protocol, diet, daily detoxing, a person could get better as I did much sooner.   I am living proof of this.

Please read and learn as much as you can.  Have you read Dr. Jernigan's new book called Beating Lyme Disease?   A person has nothing to lose by reading this eye-opening book that gives a totally different perspective on this disease.

This song is about my years with chronic lyme and being in remission for over 3 years:

I am going to stop ABX and try something natural. I am feeling so much better but the ABX are giving me problems after so much time.  I need to listen to my body.  What is the best natural approach?
