I read all of these posts in order to learn more about this disease. In a few recent posts people have said " I have tried (various drugs) and it brought the Lyme out of cyst form." How do you know?? Thanks, this is all so confusing to me.    D

Interresting question. I have not read that. There are some drugs, like flagyl, that are supposed to attack the cyst form which is protected from most abx.

My doctor has me on Plaquenil and it is really starting to work.  Plaquenil is one of the drugs that targets cysts and also it raises the PH level of the cell which makes antibiotics and immune system better penetrate and target the bacteria.  Plaquenil and Biaxin are being used by many people right now and it seems to be working well.

Snake: How do you know if Lyme is in the cyst form, do you see them, feel them? I have had ovarian cysts which they told me were "fairly normal" years ago. I am curious now... D

These cysts are very microscopic. you wouldn't feel them. When people say they could tell the lyme was coming out of the cyst form they usually mean they could feel their lyme symptoms flare up. When lyme takes the cyst form you can actually feel better. But when you go off abx the lyme signals itself that it is safe to "come out and play" again. I think your ovarian cysts have anything to do with this.
