All,

I completed 8 weeks of doxy.  Then I completed 16 weeks of minocycline.  Therefore, 6 months of treatment is in the books.  I go to see my doc tomorrow.  I'm wondering what you all suggest I should do from here.  I am getting slowly better.  Slowly.  Should I:

A) Stay on Minocycline

B) Switch back to doxy

C) Try Biaxin/Plaquenil combo

D) Try something else

My major symptoms are (in order): head and neck pain, light sensitivity, joint pain in wrists/ankles

Thanks in advance.

Chief

p.s.  As you may have seen in other posts, I am also working on a nutritional overhaul, and exercising frequently.

If you are looking to target lyme specifically then i'd recommend 3000mg-6000mg Amoxicillin and 1000mg biaxin. Biaxin/Doxy or Biaxin/Minocycline could be interesting. Biaxin/Plaquenil is ok but even better might be Biaxin/Doxy/Plaquenil.

Have you considered Rifampin?

So the plan my doc and I came up with is this... going forward, (after 8 weeks doxy, 16 weeks minocycline)...

1 month - Diflucan (Fluconazole) 200mg, supplemented with Betaine Hydrochloride

2 months - Biaxin/Flagyl

REPEAT

note: I may sub out the biaxin/flagyl for minocycline (if deemed necessary or desired)
