I had a bad hypoglycemia incident about 6 months ago and my numbers dropped to 31 for about threee days in a row!  My last CBC last week it was 61, this morning it was 73. Something is making my blood sugar drop! I can totally tell when it happens b/c I get very tired and loopy!!!! I am not sure what is causing this! Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this! Any advice will help! It seems to happen after I eat! Not like the normal person who's blood sugar drops if they don't eat!!!!

I have an adrenal adenoma on my left side which I was going to have it removed but the surgeon felt it did not need to be removed b/c he reviewed the films again and he says that it was read wrong and has not grown as much as the radiologist said it did! So basically the radiologist read it wrong 4 times??????? Something does not seem right here!  He also said the density was off b/c it was only high on the houndsfield unit due to the contrast!!!! I am just not sure about all of this and I feel like I don't trust this guy! Maybe I am answering my own question here! I think I should get a second opinion!

I would truly appreciate any advice or if anyone experinces if they have had low blood sugar issues!!!!

Thanks,

Onmyway

Everything I have learned about hypoglycemia is that it is from low adrenal function. If it were me I think I would have the tumor removed. Why not, then you will not have to worry about it. My glucose has gone down as low as 29 during the 6 hr glucose tolerance test, I barely felt alive! D

My hypoglycemia drives me nuts. My blood sugar drops when I don't eat but it also spikes then drops after I eat. I have to be very careful what I eat and when.

Try eating something every 2 or 2 1/2 hours all day long, from when you get up to when you go to bed. Have multiple small snacks that include protein and fats. This helps keeps your blood sugar from spiking then dropping. Take what you'd normally eat in a day and divide it into 8 meals. Be really careful not to eat extra or you will end up gaining a lot of weight. Take snacks with you wherever you go. Set an alarm to remind you to eat.

Keep some high fiber crackers and nut butter by your bed and have one if you wake up during the night. Keep some water available to rinse your mouth after your snack.

Did your blood sugar stay at 31 for 3 days or keep dropping to 31 after every meal? I would get a second opinion on the adenoma. Maybe even a third opinion.

Dowa & Dagger- I really appreciate all of your advice!!!

It sounds like you are dealing with the same thing!!!

I am not sure about the 31/ I think  it stayed that way for a few days! I was getting ready to have my tonsils out and they did a routine CBC! That was they found the low blood sugar! My ID Dr. who is in th same building called me and told me to get in there right away! They  pricked my finger and i was still in the 30's  they hooked me up to a glucose drip and it came up to 90! That was just a quick fix though!!! There is something causing it to plummet! I have a strong feeling it is the adenoma! It is not big but I think that is the culprit!!!!

I have made anonther appt with my Endo to speak to him about this!!! I agree with you! Get it out and then we won't have to worry! I have gained 40lbs in the past 8 months!!!! My weight has never been that high nor fluctuated like that! I have a feeling the surgeon denied the surgery b/c I asked him to send part of the adenoma to Clongen ot be tested for Lyme!!!! He said fine and then a few days later he said he did not feel surgery was necessary!!!!! I was upset at the time b/c I think they are missing something!!! Put the Lyme aside!!!

Again thank you for the input!!! Sometimes it takes hearing it from someone else to realize Dr's are not always right!!! None o the testing they did were bad. All normal!!!! They only one that is off is the Glucose testing. It only happens after I eat! My Endo put me in the hospital for 3 days with no food waiting for it to drop and it never went below 88! It has something to with after I eat!!!!!

Take Care,

Thank you for the kind words! I know what I am going to do! I am going back to my endo and we are going to discuss this! I cannot keep having blood sugar issues! They are very scary and they are hard to tell the difference between a herx and low blood sugar! When my blood sugar was at 31 everyone kept saying, I cant believe you are still talking, walking and DRIVING!!!! That is the worst!

I have this big showing coming up and i cannot afford for anything to get in the way! I am so excited!!!!

We just got it in our local paper that goes out to about 5 cities!  We are also working on getting it in the AJC!!!!

Diana has been a huge help for me! I always go to her for help! She is such a smart woman and I sooooooo look up to her! She also picks me up when I am down. She is just a wonderful person!!!!! The both of you are like my go to's on this forum!!! No matter what chaos is going on in your life you guys are always there for everyone else!!!! We thank you!!!!!

How is Garcie?????? Is the RSD you referred to the one where they can break their bones very ealsily???? How did all this happen! She has such a horrible case. I am truly sorry! Your family is always in my thoughts!!!!

Please take care,

Onmyway
