Been using my portable infrared sauna daily for at least 3 weeks now. I am really feeling better and better. Much more energy. And less overall pain. They say the effects of using one are cumulative. I totally agree. This is the best I have felt in the last 2 years. It feels good to feel good!!!

That's so great!

I was so hopeful when I got mine, but for some reason, I had worse symptoms. Not sure if it was a herx, but I ended up in the hospital, so I haven't used it since. I guess it could have been from the plastic in mine, since it was portable. I'd love to try it again with a wood one.

Glad to hear it, sauna was magical for me. Did your sauna smell when it was brand new, and what material is it made out of? Thanks, good news its helping you... D

The personal Healthy Heat saunas have several different synthetic materials inside, which are exposed to heat. The manual outlines an "outgasing" procedure to accelerate the release of the gases if you're particularly sensitive, so that the first time you are actually in it you are exposed to little, if any, discernible smell.

Also, remember your face is supposed to be isolated from the heated interior. You seal the interior space with the velcro straps around your neck.

My daughter herxed when she tried it the first time. Ours is portable as well. I think the key is to build up gradually heat and time-wise.

Jennie: Start off slow, say 15 minutes at the most. Then you build up to close to an hour. I did sauna at the clinic I went to for 45-50 minutes, three times a week at 160 degrees. You have to work your way up to that, so you dont detox too fast. I felt SO much better. If you are not a regular in the sauna, take it s-l-o-w and get out if you feel weak or dizzy. Lucky, you have sauna to use. Good luck-
