Just curious how many others get flared up after a hot shower? If so does anyone know why this happens?

How long after? Heat kills the little buggers but it should be a while before you feel anything.

about an hour after. It really drains my energy and makes my muscles more twitchy.

I read your signature, I know my Lyme goes completely nuts after alcohol or caffeine!

When you say "goes nuts after alcohol or caffeine" what sort of symptoms so you get? As far as the shower, I like to sit in the sun and someone here told me that the spirochetes get fired up in the heat and will make you react. So, I dont see how a hot shower would be much different. I actually feel better in the sun AND after a hot shower, so  who the heck knows.. LOL   D

After drinking alcohol (even in very small quantities) a few hours later or the next day all of my symptoms get really bad. I get severe muscle twitching, worse back pain, ach, feeling out of it exc. all on top of an "exaggerated hangover". The caffeine messes with my nervous system really bad and does a bunch of other wierd stuff ever since my Lyme started. The sunny weather does seem to help my Lyme in some way but it also makes me REALLY tired. The hot shower has a similar effect on my energy. Cold weather is also very painful and I get cold very easily.

Same here, I cannot tolerate the cold at all. I guess our bodies are sensitive and ANY extreme temp is not good, being hot or cold. D

Sick in CT.
You poor thing...even a hot shower makes you sick....man.
The alchol is a given. Same thing with all drugs...including caffein. But those thing do go away when you get better. As I gulf down my coffee.
Your whole system is out of wack. But don't worry, it all goes away with treament. You are not damaged goods.
Some sun is good for you. Without sunscreen for vit D. But I couldn't handle it before. It made me throw up...lol
I didn't like hot showers...they made me too tired too. Like faint. Plus with my daily fever of 101 it just made me sweat through my clothes...
So take it easy on yourself. Take a cooler shower, and drink a light beer...with ice if needed.

hey dowa! what's up????
Cold? what's that? how cold are you talking about? gosh when I went to germany for treatment. it was about 30 or so, and man I was walking around in sandels...ha. I had a fever of course..every day. and I was always sweating though my clothes. three times a day. My underwear wet. It was awful. I cut my hair all off, and wore it back wet. It was crazy, well actually people thought I was crazy. But then again.....they would be correct...lol
Lyme just makes everthing in life hard. all the good thing...all of the simple pleasures. eating, sleeping, walking, thinking, loving.
