Hi, I'm new here and have had lyme since last spring, clinically dx'd in Sept but blood tested negative. My primary doctor told me it can't be lyme because she gave me 2 weeks of abx and that is all it takes. Wrong!  They tested a small piece of skin with a rash on it and told me it was from a tick and that was after the 2 weeks of abx and still told me it can't be lyme. I'm fortunate to know a poor guy with severe chronic lyme who helped me to look into lyme further.

Symptoms I've had...

fatigue

disseminated EM rash all over except face

stiff neck (first symptom)

migrating joint and muscle pain

swollen joints

burning and pain on soles of feet

snapping joints

strange tingles in legs

night sweats

low grade fevers and chills

brain fog (my wife thinks this symptom was prior to lyme smilewinkgrin )

Took doxy for 8 weeks

now on Ceftin for 6 weeks

antihistimine to control rash

grapefruit seed extract and olive leaf extract

garlic, B-100 vitamin and multi-vitamin

sugar free and low fat diet

My symptoms have improved but it doesn't want to go away entirely.

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you've suffered from ignorant docitis smilewinkgrin I suffered the same.

It sounds like you're doing well in spite of the docs you've had. Are you using an immune system booster? That may help push you over the finish line.

Hello SickFromTick! Meet SickInCT! wink

I too tested negative for Lyme but eventually was diagnosed with the right Dr. I share most all of your symptoms. I wish you the best of luck here!

It's 6:30pm, getting near my bed time. Night smurf

Hey there. :-) Yeah those abx doses are just reducing your bug load so you will feel a bit better. They won't get rid of any of the infections. You definitely need an array of lab tests to ID what co-infections you have and start getting case specific treatment. Sugar free diet is a great start, but seriously consider eliminating gluten as well.

Garlic is actually pretty effective against Borrelia (Lyme) and generally good for clearing a lot of the co-infections out the digestive track, but it needs to be either fresh cloves or freeze-dried. The latter is only type of preparation that preserves enough of the thiosulfanates in the garlic so that it continues to be an effective antibiotic. Fresh is way cheap, but stanky! Freeze-dried is unfortunately pricey as heck, but less odoriferous. Fresh you need at least 6 cloves daily, and freeze-dried you need 10 grams daily.
