Yeah for your Naturopath!
That's great that your on the probiotics. most of the GI test are stool and saliva. My LLMD tested me for so many things that I didn't understand at first. And I'm a nurse. I knew very little about Lyme, and that all was wrong! Everything that could affect your immune systems ability to fight off this disease needs to be checked. If your GI tracts immune abilities aren't 100%, your meds aren't going to have a chance to work. And the long term anbx treatment can really screw up the GI tract, so that's what the probiotics are for.
Lyme really screws up all of your body systems! Issues you didn't have before, you might get now. I have food allergies and gluten sensitivity that I pray is only temporary.
The thought now is that yes, Lyme can pass the placental barrier. I have that worry also. I have a 3 y.o. son and I was diagnosed with LD 7/08. My LLMD told me there's no way to know how long I've had it. I've had back injuries in the past and have chronic back pain. Anyway, she gave me the name and email address of a pediatric specialist on the east coast that she knows. (I'm in Ca). I emailed him with details of myself and son, and he responded pretty quickly. Ill find his card and give the info if you want. But if you have any question in your mind about your kids being infected, have them tested through IGenX.
good luck and hugs to you and your family
