Hi jennie.  Alcohol and sugar are not the best things for people who have Lyme.  I don't know if you are aware, but alcohol can cancel out antibiotics.

Many people who have Lyme experience a worsening of symptoms from having sugar.  Many Lymies benefit from eating healthy and cutting out processed carbs and sugar.  A healthy diet will strengthen your immune system and help you recover.

Could also be lactose intolerance, which can also be caused by Lyme...

Alcohol makes me VERY sick but I never noticed any problems with milk or ice cream. I hear about people having sugar or dairy intolerance but I never saw a direct connection personally. I know caffine is a no no for me also. Im not sure how people avoid sugar because it's in just about anything you drink besides pure water. I don't know about you but its hard for me to drink only pure water because its so bland.

Even before I had Lyme I think my body would have rejected the wine ice cream combo. I would be on the toilet all night with that. LOL smilewinkgrin

Jennie48,

Being that I am a ice cream lover like yourself... here is what I have been eating since lyme. Its real good too. Sugar Free frozen yogurt. Just once or twice a week for that fix.
