As some may or may not know there have been hundreds of documented deaths from Lyme Disease. cry How do we keep this from happening to us? Does anyone specifically know what system shuts down in these terminal patients? Is it heart related? Is it related to co infections? The better we understand what specifically happens the better we can prevent it from happening to us or someone we love.

The two cases that I know of specifically were due to heart failure. My golden retriever who had Lyme also died of heart failure but he did pretty well for many years with it. But in all honestly, I look for ways to be positive and asking these kinds of questions is really not good for you. (:  D

You know that is a real scary question. In the book Cure Unknown she wrote that patients diagnosed with ALS that were later discovered through tests to have lyme, could not recover when they had reached the stage of being unable to walk. When they were given drugs it seemed to hasten their deaths. Heart block can happen but I guess they could just quit breathing also. Organs fail.
